THE CREATOR NOTEBOOK
A safety and privacy checklist for trans creators
A useful trans-creator safety plan combines separate accounts, controlled access, careful content review and a response plan for harassment or leaks. Start with the information you cannot afford to expose. Faceless framing and geoblocking can reduce some risks, but screenshots, recognition and redistribution mean complete anonymity is never guaranteed.
Talk about your next step
Map what would matter if it became public
Think about a home address, workplace, family connection, old username or recognizable location. The useful question is not whether a detail looks harmless by itself, but whether it links your creator identity to something you need to keep separate.
Choose a safe contact method for your team. A notification on a shared device can reveal more than a public photo. Review lock-screen previews and shared account access.
Discuss what this means for your account →Review a post before it leaves your device
A consistent review habit is easier than trying to recall a file after publication. Check the full frame and any audio, not only the main subject.
- Look for mail, screens, mirrors, windows and distinctive landmarks.
- Check visible marks, jewelry and a recognizable room layout.
- Remove location metadata from source files where possible.
- Avoid reusing a photo already associated with a private account.
- Verify that every collaborator has the required approval and consent.
Treat account access as a limited permission
Use unique passwords, two-factor authentication and platform-supported access controls. Keep recovery and payouts under your control. Record who can access what and agree on a handover process before adding a manager.
Geoblocking can reduce local discovery but cannot prevent VPN access or resharing. Fansly documents its location-blocking tools; check the current controls for every platform in your plan.
Discuss what this means for your account →Prepare a response before something happens
Keep a private evidence log with URLs, timestamps and screenshots. Agree on when the team pauses posts, escalates a threat or reports an account. Do not negotiate with someone making an outing threat through the chat team.
Copyright and platform reporting can help, but no service can promise to retrieve every copy. Ask about the scope and cost of specialist assistance. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
